Richard Paul “Rick” Astley is an UK singer-songwriter, musician, and radio personality. He is best known for the song, “Never Gonna Give You Up”, which was a number 1 hit single in 25 countries.

Both “Never Gonna Give You Up” and “Together Forever” are from Astley’s first album “Whenever You Need Somebody” released in 1987. Both songs were written by Stock/Aitken/Waterman. “Together Forever” was release as a single on 22 February 1988, and made it to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on 18 June. It was the 4th single from the album. “Together Forever” made it to number 2 on the UK Singles Chart

Astley retired from the music industry in 1993 but made a comeback in 2007 when he became an Internet phenomenon, as his video for “Never Gonna Give You Up” became part of a popular Internet meme known as “Rickrolling”.
